BYD sold over 0.9 million EVs in 2022, up 184 percent year-over-year. In the first half of 2023, BYD sold over 600,000 EVs, a growth of 91 percent year-over-year. BYD has a strong presence in China, the world’s largest EV market, as well as in other countries such as Thailand, Australia, and Sweden.
Volkswagen is certainly not sleeping, either.
