The emergence of these automated systems demands a close look at how we plot their evolution and value. The patterns seem quite clear though how the underlying technologies are used needs careful observation. At first such systems are often just about novelty, some almost mystical potential that everyone wants to grab and explore. Such technology gets so exciting that it is hard to actually define what purpose it has besides being a bit like an exciting toy, something cool to experience. With a degree of further maturity the patterns become more solid, things like enhanced security protocols. This move towards what appears to be the industrialization of previously handcrafted methods is actually creating new openings and thus, I am curious what will appear in its wake. I see those automated agents, once rather exotic, will certainly become quite commonplace. This movement to create new efficiencies might well be a movement of something greater. What we are now is a part of this move towards commoditization of effort. There is something greater to that picture, something more profound.
